Cleaning fee
The cleaning fee is not transferred from Previo via the Channel Manager and must therefore be set up directly in the Booking.com extranet. To set up the fee, you will need to contact Booking.com customer service.
Fee transfer
For the cleaning fee to be correctly applied to a received booking, it must be set up properly in the Booking.com extranet.
Booking.com offers several types of cleaning fees, but only the one specifically set as a “Cleaning fee” will be transferred correctly to the reservation.
If the fee is set in a different way, for example as a “Housekeeping fee“, it will not be correctly transferred. In this case, Booking.com does not send the required service code needed to properly associate the fee with the booking.
When this happens, the fee information is not recorded in the room account—instead, the total price of the reservation is only reflected in the reservation note.
If you notice that the cleaning fee is missing from the room account in reservations received from Booking.com, and the total price on the room account does not match the price shown in the reservation note or in the Booking.com extranet, please check your cleaning fee settings.
You can find the fee settings in the Booking.com extranet under Property → VAT/taxes/charges section.
Here is an example of the cleaning fee settings for an apartment operation:
In this case, for the first two apartments, the cleaning fee will be correctly transferred to the reservation, ensuring that the total price in Previo matches the price displayed in the Booking.com extranet.
However, for the remaining two apartments, the fee transfer will not work. As a result, the correct total price will only be visible in the reservation note, while the reservation account will display only the room price, excluding the cleaning fee.
To check which fee has been applied to a specific reservation, you can search for the reservation in the Booking.com extranet.
This reservation is transferred to Previo without the cleaning fee on the room account, so the price in Previo will be 113.86 EUR.
However, in the booking note, the information will show a Payment from partner amount of 148.86 EUR, which includes the cleaning fee.
The total price in the note reflects the correct amount, but the room account will only display the room price, excluding the cleaning fee.
VAT – Booking.com does not send information about the VAT rate for the service, so the cleaning fee is saved with the default rate set on the Previo side.
WARNING! If the fee is set incorrectly and you wish to change it, you must contact Booking.com customer service ditectly.
The fee settings are locked for you, and they cannot be adjusted independently through the extranet.
